Angus Deayton
Best known for hosting Have I Got News for You, with regular panellists Paul Merton and Ian Hislop, Angus Deayton is a comic actor, television presenter and awards host.
Angus’ career took off with a programme which parodied the commercial and local British radio stations. Radio Active transmitted on BBC Radio 4 between 1981 and 1987, which he both wrote and performed in. It transferred to television as KYTV between 1989 and 1993.
Highlights of his impressive CV include playing alongside Rowan Aktinson in Mr Bean. In 1990 Deayton was cast as the Mildews’ neighbour, Patrick Trench, in the British suburban sitcom One Foot in the Grave, but it was hosting Have I Got News For You that made him a household name.
Angus Deayton has carved himself a niche as the consumate corporate Awards Host with his dry wit, his attention to detail and professionalism. He has also presented the BAFTA Awards, other projects including a further episode of Radio Active, a BBC comedy Nighty Night as well as presenting ITV’s cookery reality show Hell’s Kitchen and the light-hearted quiz Bognor or Bust..
He possesses all the attributes of a good presenter – unflappable, charming and witty.
