Piers Morgan
Piers Morgan was born in 1965. He studied journalism at Harlow College, beginning his career in local South London newspapers, including The Wimbledon News. He later joined The Sun in 1989 and was given his own showbiz column, ‘Bizarre’. In 1994, when he was 28, Rupert Murdoch appointed him as the youngest ever editor of The News of the World, making him the youngest national newspaper editor in Britain in 50 years. Two years later, he was headhunted to edit the Daily Mirror, where he stayed until 2004. Under his leadership, the paper won numerous journalistic awards, including Newspaper of the Year at the British Press Awards in 2002 for its coverage of 9/11.
After his departure from the Mirror, Morgan became a best-selling author and a regular media columnist. He appeared as a judge on both Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent, and in 2009, he won the first series of Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice. He also hosted CNN’s Piers Morgan Live from 2011-2014, a show widely distributed around the world.
Morgan has presented various UK TV shows, including The Dark Side of Fame, You Can’t Fire Me I’m Famous, and Tabloid Tales. His intimate and revealing interview show, Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, has been running for over ten years, celebrating the lives and careers of leading stars from entertainment, business, and politics. In addition, he has presented two prime-time crime series, Killer Women with Piers Morgan and Serial Killer with Piers Morgan, in which he interviews America’s most dangerous criminals. These series have aired in more than 70 countries.
He currently presents Piers Morgan Uncensored and writes regular columns for The Sun and the New York Post. Morgan also serves as the US Editor-At-Large for DailyMail.com, writing widely read columns about news and current affairs. He has written several books, including bestsellers Wake Up, The Insider, and God Bless America: Misadventures of a Big Mouth Brit.
