Johanna Hooper is a retired Commander, Royal Navy in which she served for 23 years, starting right at the time the WRNS was disbanded and women were just starting to go to sea with the men. She has been running her own business for 3 years now, offering a range of consulting, coaching, mentoring, mediation and tutoring services for both public and private sector, SME and corporates.
Her focus is always on the people side of business, and specifically helping leaders understand the shadow they cast as leaders so they can shape it to get the best out of their workforce.
These conversations invariably touch on the impact of stress on our performance. As well as recounting the experience, Johanna Hooper invites listeners to consider their own тАШsinking ship momentтАЩ and shares how they can тАШdiagnoseтАЩ their own stress in order to build personalised resilience.

She has presented at various MOD leadership conferences including the Joint Helicopter Command Air Safety Conference, the Defence Infrastructure OrganisationтАЩs Leadership Conference and the Women in Defence 10 year anniversary conference.
She has also been a guest lecturer for Brighton and Cranfield Universities and is a current tutor for Portsmouth and Winchester Universities тАУ the latter 2 on the HMG Help To Grow: Management programme.
