Broadcasting Career: Trisha began her career in Sydney as a journalist and news anchor in ABC’s flagship news and current affairs division, making history in the process as the country’s first Black female broadcaster in the field. Simultaneously, she became a familiar face to families as a presenter on the much-loved children’s series Play School, which she co-hosted for 12 years. Alongside this, Trisha founded her own production company, C’est La Vie Productions, and developed and hosted the lifestyle programme Live It Up. She also hosted her own radio show on Sydney’s 2GB and was appointed as a Government Advisor on Mental Health, a role she held for over a decade.
Trisha moved to the UK after being headhunted to launch her own eponymous daytime talk show, Trisha. Running for 12 years across ITV and Channel 5, the programme was a national success and widely credited with pioneering a new genre of British daytime television – one that blended therapeutic insight, accessible storytelling and open discussions around mental health and social issues.
Her return to UK screens has included hosting the latest series of You Are What You Eat on Channel 5, a modern reboot of the iconic health series, where she brings her unique combination of compassion and directness to inspire sustainable lifestyle changes. Trisha has also appeared on a wide range of popular UK television shows, including Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, Dancing on Ice, Antiques Roadshow, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Stars in Their Eyes, Loose Women, and 8 Out of 10 Cats.
In 2022, she joined TalkTV, a British television channel launched by News UK, contributing to its diverse programming lineup. On TalkTV, Trisha hosted a show that delved into pressing social issues, offering insightful discussions and interviews. Her programme featured conversations with various guests, including experts and public figures, aiming to shed light on underrepresented issues and foster a deeper understanding among viewers.
In the United States, Trisha Goddard was recruited by NBC in 2010 to appear as a conflict-resolution expert on Maury, before being given her own syndicated talk show, The Trisha Goddard Show, which ran for two years. She was also part of the creative and executive production teams responsible for developing internationally successful formats.

In 2022, she publicly revealed her diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer – 19 months after resuming chemotherapy and radiation, while continuing to work. Her decision to share her diagnosis, through Hello! magazine in 2024, was driven by her desire to improve the way serious illnesses are discussed and understood, especially around inclusivity, language and dignity. She continues to work full-time and advocate for others, refusing to let the diagnosis define her.
