About
Kim Innes
At just 24 years old, the founder of Humble Crumble has transformed the classic dessert into a modern delight, featuring unique twists like juniper berries and presentation in martini glasses. Operating from a mobile crumble bar at outdoor markets and private events, her innovative venture began in Brighton during her English Literature studies. Witnessing the demand for cold treats, she envisioned a winter alternative and naturally turned to crumbles, drawing on her childhood culinary success.
Having excelled in cookery classes at thirteen, winning a ‘Gold Star’ for her crumble, she revisited her passion in adulthood, drawing inspiration from cocktails for her recipes. Popular options include a prosecco, strawberry raspberry, and apple crumble adorned with rose petals, honeycomb, and meringue, along with an Old Fashioned variant featuring dark sweet cherries, blood orange, apples, and bourbon.
To test the gourmet crumble demand, she initially faced entry challenges into food markets but cleverly designed a stall setup on Photoshop, securing a spot when one market agreed. Humble Crumble’s success, combining culinary creativity with entrepreneurial ingenuity, reflects her resilience and aptitude for business.
